Dr. Bartos is owner of be. Women’s Health & Wellness—a comprehensive medical clinic that offers traditional ob/gyn services as well as aesthetics, community classes and yoga classes.
After spending time in corporate medicine, Dr. Bartos didn’t feel she could practice medicine the way she wanted – the way most women wanted. Preventive medical care was scoffed and medicine was all about “shares,” “relative value units” and seeing more people while seemingly doing less for them.
Dr. Bartos wanted to create a village for women’s health where women – regardless of age – could feel their health was supported and their health goals were cherished.
Dr. Bartos studied at the University of Texas at Houston Medical School and completed her obstetrics & gynecology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she was also chief resident.
Dr. Bartos served 12 years in the US Navy, five of which were active duty. During that time, she served the women and spouses of the armed forces in Charleston, SC, and then Washington D.C at National Naval Medical Center (now called Walter Reed National Military Medical Center). In Washington, she was an associate professor at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS), teaching medical students and residents in both obstetrics and gynecology. She was the medical director of the “President’s Hospital’s” Mother Infant Care Center and also served as an expert witness for the military in sexual assault trauma.
