Saurabh Gupta, MD, FACC is currently the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at OHSU. Dr Gupta received his medical degree in 1994 from the prestigious Maulana Azad Medical College of the University of Delhi. He did his residency in internal medicine at the St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital of the Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York from 1996-1999 followed by a year as a Chief Resident. He did a 4-year clinical cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Gupta’s major clinical and research interests are coronary artery disease and complex valvular heart disease. He is an expert in interventional catheter based minimally invasive procedures (such as stent implantation, valvuloplasties). In addition to internal medicine, Dr Gupta holds current national board certifications in Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. Dr Gupta has been recognized as a “Fellow” of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). He serves as a principal investigator on several ongoing clinical trials at OHSU and has been featured prominently in the media (http://www.katu.com/news/medicalalert/86225792.html). He is very active in raising awareness about coronary artery disease, both among medical professionals as well as in the community.
