Here are kind words from others
I saw Dr. Maeda for ankle pain that I had been experiencing with running and cycling for about 1.5 years. I had initially seen a podiatrist, but didn't feel comfortable with him, and made an appt. w/ Dr. Maeda at a friend's recommendation. After looking at my X-rays, he ordered an MRI (which should have been done months prior). He called me with results within days, and made it clear that I could ask as many quesitons as needed (which I did; and I always received thorough answers). As surgery seemed to be indicated for my situation, he suggested I speak to several surgeons to get their view- and recommended that I get second and third opinions so that I could feel completely comfortable moving forward. After a bad experience with a podiatrist with regard to this condition, it was so nice to talk to someone who listened to me, welcomed my questions, and took the time to give thorough answers. I'll be visiting Dr. Maeda with any future sports injuries I have, and I've already gladly recommended him to others.
I had to see Dr Maeda on two occasions, once for a strained knee, and again for an anke injury that worried might be a dislocated tendon. On both occassions he went out of his way to see me, even scheduling time before the official schedule to fit me into a busy schedule. For my ankle, he did an ultrasound during the exam to rule out some issues, including dislocation, and then when the local MRI would have required a wait of several days, he arranged for a same day MRI at another facility where there was an opening. He also called me personally later in the evening to give me the results. While I would not expect this level of support and personal service from a doctor, I was incredibly impressed that he took the time to meet and follow up with me on such a short schedule, and will call him first for any needs I might have in the future. I have referred others to him, and recommended him very highly.
I've had a torn ACL on my right knee for 3 years already because of an old basketball injury before I re-injured the same knee again before visiting Dr. Maeda. I've seen at least 4 other doctors regarding my knee but what made Dr. Maeda special was that he was the only one that also took a look at my LEFT knee to see what I might have been doing to overcompensate for the other knee. It's because of Dr. Maeda going the extra mile and taking his time examining my entire condition, that he was able to provide a more holistic and complete solution than any other doctor I've seen. He made sure I understood what my options were without any bias for one method or another and even followed-up proactively a week after my appointment to make sure I didn't have any other questions. I would recommend Dr. Maeda to any of my friends or family suffering from any sports injury!
I saw Dr. Maeda for a couple months due to a partial ligament tear in my left thumb. It was the first time I had a cast so naturally I asked all kinds of questions about the treatment. He took the time to make sure I understood everything and made this first experience a comfortable one. I would see Dr. Maeda again if I happen to injure myself again and recommend his expertise to any of my friends and family.
I saw Dr. Maeda a few years ago with a few different pains in my legs and feet. I had been a regular runner but started getting severe shin splints and what felt like a broken toe. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Maeda pretty quickly and went during work hours so the appointment needed to be fast and timely. Dr. Maeda was prompt and quick to diagnose my pain and offered some treatment for fixing it.
Dr. Maeda helped me out with some back issues. he was very logical, thoughful in his evaluation, and helped me understand potential remedies in terms I could understand. I followed his advice and direction and I am doing 100% better. I would highly recommend this Dr. to anyone
