Our goal is to devise individualized treatment plans to meet each patient’s healthcare needs while respecting personal beliefs and considering their preferences and expectations. We do our best to get to know our patients and understand their priorities to establish a plan that our patient is able and willing to implement.
The majority of allergic and immunologic disorders and asthma are chronic conditions that require long term treatment. To promote long term health and improve quality of life, we aim to minimize the need for and reliance on medications. This can be achieved in part by emphasizing lifestyle changes and environmental modifications to minimize exposure to triggers. Another pillar of our approach is addressing the root cause of allergic conditions, which is an aberrant immune response to innocuous allergens that is achieved by allergen immunotherapy, which is a potentially curative approach.
We frequently use medications in our treatment plans, but believe the least amount of medication that enables us to control our patient’s symptoms and disease process, is the most appropriate. We strive to provide the best possible care by judicious use of only the least number of tests and procedures to avoid putting an undue financial burden on our individual patients and their family as well as the society in general.
