I grew up and trained in South Africa. Every family had a family doctor and I always loved the idea of being able to one day run a ' small country town family practice' in the suburbs. Fortunately I have been given that prviledge in my currnet practice.
However, to be able to give 120 % every day to ones demanding job-other pieces in ones life have to be in order/stable.
I am fortunate to have a loving, wonderful wife of almost twenty five years who understands and supports my love of my job. I however gave up delivering babies as I knew I couldn't do it all. At least I still get to the hospital to see the new babies when they are born.
I have two wonderful kids who I try and spend as much time with as I can. We spend a lot of time together in the summer on Lake Washington wakeboarding and wakesurfing- my new sport. I also work out regularly and try to ride my bike as often as possible-weather permitting. We are also involved in our local religious community and spend time with friends and family when time allows us to do so. We also love to travel-especially back to South Africa to see family or to Mexico for some much needed sunshine and warmth in the winter months
