Here are kind words from others
Erin is the Goddess of Medicine! And that is NOT hyperbole. There are simply not adequate words to describe Erin's excellence! She was able to diagnose my elusive condition when no one else could - she simply refused to give up! She gave me a 'home' for my medical care. Not only does she do physicals and the full gamut of routine medical care, but she is amazing at helping me manage this chronic disease so that I have the best possible quality of life under difficult circumstances. Her base of knowledge is immense and consistently up-to-date. You will find no one kinder, more compassionate, more attentive, more supportive, or more patient. Erin is so easy to contact by phone or email and is very responsive.....something I haven't experienced with other doctors. Typically you can get in to see her the day you call or the next day. She is conscious of her patients' time - you are NOT left sitting in the waiting room and often are escorted straight in to an exam room. Her wry sense of humor is delight
I have seen Dr. K. for almost 4 years. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for an appointment, so I never get a chance to read any of the magazines. Her staff always greets me by name. There is always coffee waiting with a fridge full of water and juice, and snacks for the mornings I have to come in fasting for blood draws. Dr. K. uses a computer for medical records, but unlike other doctors I have seen, she doesn't hide behind her computer while she talks to you. The great thing about the computer is that she can send most prescriptions straight to my pharmacy so they are ready when I get there. She has done my annual exams from head to toe with Pap smears (painless). She has treated my Crohn's disease. Diagnosed and referred me to a surgeon for my torn knee cartilage. Diagnosed and sent me to a Gynecologist for ovarian cysts. She has also helped me with depression and anxiety. I trust Dr. Kershisnik as a physician. She has always been responsive to my needs. She even makes housecalls :)
We would highly recommend Dr. Kershisnik to all. Her compassion, kindess and means of educating our family has been exceptional! Our family has seen her for years and she has helped my 83 year old mother with her complex medical issues - diabetes, congestive heart failure, glaucoma, etc., have a wonderfual quality of life. And when my mother was hospitalized, Dr. Kershisnik would visit my mother at the hospital daily and made sure there was a continuity of care when perhaps that otherwise wouldn't have happened with a hospitalist - which happened with my father before we joined Dr. Kershinik's practice. Many times Dr. Kershisnik was able to help my partner or I over the phone, when we had a medical issue and resolve it , when on other occassions, without her being our physician, we would have gone to the E.R. when it wouldn't have been necessary. Dr. Kershisnik has been available to us 24-7 and we are so appreciative. You can't go wrong joining her "Direct medical Practice".
For a annual fee without the use of insurance companies, she is available to her patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by phone, email and in person. Visits may be scheduled on the same day if needed, prescriptions may be refilled any time without an office visit if needed, she makes house calls if needed, and all records are kept private and digital on a hard drive in the office. Performance is exemplary with compassionate care. We are a family of four, (including two teenagers) eligible to choose military medicine for free due to benefits earned for military service and/or major insurance company health care plans, due to current employee benefits; however, we are not interested. We have maintained a relationship with this Physician for five years. Call it "boutique doctor", or back to the basics of care provided decades ago, this Physician is competent, compassionate, yet sincerely humble. She talks the talk and walks the walk. Always a patient advocate first!
I love Dr. K. She actually takes the time to get to know her patients and understand their medical concerns. She is extremely thorough. During my annual medical this year, she saw a mole between my toes that I didn't even know was there. She referred me to a Dermatologist who removed it and sent it in for a biopsy. They didn't like what they saw, so I went in to have more removed and checked. This time it came back benign. Who knows how things would have gone if she hadn't been so thorough. Dr. K is one of the few doctors who will call you back in a timely manner if you leave a message that you would like to talk to her about something. She is extremely knowledgeable and explains things in laymen's terms that are easy to understand. From the first time she sees you, it is like talking to a long time friend. I can't say enough about how happy I am she is our concierge physician.
I'm middle aged so I've been through a few doctors in my time. Some excellent, some not so. I realize that each patient is different & what's good for one patient may not be good for another. We all have different needs & criteria. That said, for me, Dr Kershisnik has been more than excellent for me. She's proactive and wants to do more than treat a symptom. She's interested in each patient and their overall well being. She treats the WHOLE person. And when you walk into her exam room, whether for a simple cold or high cholesterol, you can be certain that you're not going to feel rushed, as Dr Kershisnik will give you as much time as you need, something that I feel is rare with a doctor. I'm not exaggerating when I say she literally changed my life.
