As a native Californian, Dr. Deborah Hughes travelled east where she earned her undergraduate degree at Bucknell University in the quiet Amish area of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. She then returned to big city life to earn her Doctor of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College in Center City Philadelphia. Having endured her fair share of wintery weather, she returned west, to southern Nevada for her residency in Ob/Gyn at the University Medical Center of Nevada, serving as Cheif Resident in her final year.
As an avid animal lover she ran one of the main rescue resources in Las Vegas for her favored breed of dog, Golden Retreivers, for over 10 years. Also a horse lover, she has cultivated her herd of Arabian Horses for years and has competed in equestrian competitions throughout the United States and abroad. She has loved dance her entire life and now maintains her own ballet studio and has appeared in numerous Las Vegas productions, despite her hectic schedule.
Dr. Hughes has specialized exclusively in Gynecology for the past 6 years, after 8 years as a combined Obstetrician Gynecologist. She joins Women’s Specialty Care after many years as a managing partner of a smaller practice. Dr. Hughes is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her current affiliations include the American Medical Association, the Nevada State Medical Association, the Clark County Medical Society, and the Clark County Ob-Gyn Society.
