When Dr. John “Doc” Robertson was a freshman at the University of Texas, he was described by his coach, as “...one of the best half milers to come out of the state.”
Dr. Robertson continued to run in college, where he became a physician skilled in sports medicine. As a physician he has coached for one of Washington’s best high school cross-country teams, Seattle Prep.
While he no longer runs marathons, Dr. Robertson continues to coach cross-country and track at Seattle Prep and has particular interest in getting injured runners training again. Dr. Robertson has been medical director of most of Seattle’s major road races, including the Goodwill Games, the Shore Run, the Seafair 10 K, and the Emerald City Marathon. He is a father of four and a grandfather of two, all the best kids ever!
