I started in neurosurgery in 1990 after excellent training at The University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in Memphis. This gave me confidence and at the same time realize I can ask for help; nobody is going to call me stupid, I am a brain surgeon.
From a great training program, one develops intrests within neurosurgery with the skills to develop them.
This has lead to experience in Deep Brain Stimulation for movemment disorders and transfacial endoscopic surgery for skull based tumors.
At Northwest Hospital I have been Section Head of Neurological Surgery since 1998 and was Chief of Surgery 2004- 2008. Currently I am also an Associate Clinical Professor for Neuological Surgery in the University of Washington Department of Neurosurgery.
