Dr. Stanley Horwitz attended undergraduate school at Temple University and attended Temple University School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 1965. Dr. Horwitz served in the United States Army at Fort Hood, Texas with the 1st Armored Division. While there, he worked with the Dental Detachment and was privileged to participate in part of the Army General Dental Residency.
From 1967 to 1969, Dr. Horwitz was a resident at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, completing his residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 1969, where he became board eligible.
Dr. Horwitz then opened a private practice in Ardmore, PA on August 4, 1969 dedicated solely to Pediatric & Adolescent Dentistry. At that time, Dr. Horwitz was also the recipient of National Institute of Health Dental Research Grant in conjunction with the Department of Otolaryngology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Horwitz at the same time began the inpatient program for pediatric dental patients under general anesthesia at the Bryn Mawr Hospital. Dr. Horwitz also taught undergraduate students part time at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Horwitz is an attending staff member at both The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and The Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Dr. Horwitz presently teaches in the Pediatric & Adolescent Dental Residency at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry.
Dr. Horwitz is married to Merle, who practices Law, and they have traveled extensively. They have 2 children, one who is Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, and the other who owns a business making custom wedding cakes in Portland, Oregon.
Presently, Dr. Horwitz is in private practice with Kimberly Dondici-Chermol, D.M.D., limited to Pediatric and Adolescent Dentistry.
