I have a background and board certification in pediatrics after which I did a 2 year sports medicine fellowship at Stanford. I see all types of sports injuries and the full range of active and athletic patients. However, I do have a special interest in the unique problems that affect the pediatric and adolescent aged athlete. In addition to my office practice, I am involved with event coverage for many sports including football, swimming, and diving. Event coverage has included Goodwill Games, World Championships for Aquatics, Olympic Trials, and the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. I also have worked on sports advisory committees for the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association and the National Athletic Trainers Association. Part of my professional life includes teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing physicians as well as writing and lecturing on sports topics.
