Usually no concern: Ah, baby poo. It consumes much of parent's time, and often creates anxiety, especially in the early years. Fortunately, there about as many normal variations of stool appearance as there are flavors of ice cream (ok,bad analagy ) . "Black strings" are no exception, assuming all other things normal. Breast fed infant stool is generally dijon mustard consistency but can vary. Mention it to his doc

Infection vs. other: Months duration could indicate infection (bacterial or fungal). Chronic Sinusitis would be near top of the list. Also consider a lodged foreign body (like a bead, other). Lastly, some rare conditions such as Wegener's Granulomatosis or even underlying tumor can cause those symptoms. I would see your doctor (or ENT). Consider imaging (CT scan) and direct visualization -- then treat accordingly.

Seek attention: 16 days out from delivery, most bleeding should have ceased. Concerned about ongoing hemorrhage and the secondary effects (dizzy, headache, etc.). See your OB/GYN sooner than later. Get checked out.
