About
Bio
I was born in Tanzania, Africa but raised in India, completing all my education there including my residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery, at one of the most prestigious institutions there.
Wishing to further my experience and skills, I moved to th USA, and then completed a residency (my second one!) in Orthopaedic Surgery, following which I did a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis Surgery at Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego where I had the privilege of learning from great thought leaders in the specialty.
I was then fortunate to spend a year at the Erie Shrine Hospital, where Dr. Jim Sanders took me under his wing, and from whom I learned the management of the very young children with scoliosis. I learned the principles of Scoliosis Casting, and have carried on with the skills I acquired there.
My next stop was at Loma Linda University , CA where I established an Early Onset Scoliosis Center, treating several patients with Infantile and Juvenile Scoliosis, in addition to managing the gamut of pediatric orthopaedic conditions.
Family reasons dictated our next move to Riley Childrens Hospital here in Indiana, where I hope to spend the rest of my career, building a spine deformity center, focusing on all aspects of pediatric spinal deformity. My special interest is in pulmonary function and how it is affected by spinal deformity in the very young.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking and spending time with my family and friends.
