Pain killer and rest: Your dentist will give you pain medication and anti-imflammatory drugs to contol the pain and swelling. In some case, you will get antibiotics too. For your part, just follow the post-op instruction and have a good rest. Ice pack the day of surgery will help. Mouth rinse and heat treatment days after surger also help.

Crown/bridge/denture: If the tooth is still savagible, you need a crown. If the tooth is not savagible or you are talking about a missing teeth. Implant supported crown, bridge and partial dentures are your options. First 2 are fixed which means it will stay in your mouth all the time. Partial denture is removable which means it can be put in and taken out.

Very helpful: If the extraction site is not healing well, the socket is probably still open and food can be trapped there and cause inflammation. Rinsing frequently, especially after each meal with clean water or non-acohol based mouth rinse will keep food out of the extraction sites and prevent secondary infection.

No unless have to: Wisdom extraction is a intensive surgery sometimes could be more difficult than a gerenal abdominal surgery . Unpredictable complications also are not uncommon which includes severe systemic infection. It is an elective dental procedure in pregancy and unless you are already infected and pose a therat to you and baby, it is better to do it after delivery.

After novacaine off: It is recommended that you eat after the anesthesia wears off so that you wont bite your tongue & cheek or have trouble swallowing. Roughly 2 hours after surger should be ok. Soft and cool food is suggested and high protein food is preferred.
