Bio

Nancy graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She received an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Wayne State University in Detroit and a Specialist Degree in Humanistic and Educational Psychology from the Center for Humanistic Studies, also in Detroit. Her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology was awarded by the Union Institute, Cincinnati, Ohio. Nancy worked in private practice as a psychotherapist since 1981. From 1998 to 2001 she was the Director of Training at the Oakland University Counseling Center in Rochester, Michigan. Currently, she is a professor at the Michigan School of Professional Psychology in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Nancy is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and the Michigan Psychological Association. Nancy is an avid student of Ayurveda and studied the principles of Ayurveda at the Oakwood Hospital Center for Alternative and Complementary Medicine in Westland, Michigan. She also served on the board of the Center for Enlightened Medicine in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has taught classes in health care and speaks frequently about Ayurveda. The focus of her talks is the utilization of Mind-Body Medicine to treat and prevent depression. Nancy has also appeared on local television programs to discuss Ayurvedic health principles. Nancy is a board member of the David Lynch Foundation. The Foundation is committed to the establishment of stress-free schools. Nancy is also the co-author, with Sandra Moss M.S.P.H., of Healing Depression the Mind-Body Way: creating happiness with meditation, yoga, and ayurveda. Published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc. in 2009.
