Graduated from Medical College of Wisconsin in 1986. General surgery residency training at Oregon Health Sciences University from 1986 to 1992. Fellowship training in organ transplantation at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota 1992 to 1994. Director of pancreas transplantation at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, LA, 1994 to 1997. Co-director of abdominal organ transplant program at Tulane University Medical Center from 1997 to 2002. Surgical director of liver transplantation hepatobiliary services at Methodist Dallas Medical Center , Dallas, TX, 2002 to present.
