Dr. Patterson has practiced general pediatrics since 1992 and is currently associated with the Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia. He attended medical school at Albany Medical College in New York and did his pediatric residency at the University of Virginia. In addition to general pediatrics, he has a special interest in narcolepsy and cataplexy. He also teaches third-year medical students and pediatric residents. He is board certified in pediatrics.
Prior to the practice of medicine, he obtained his PhD in biochemistry from MIT and worked in industry for several years. He is married and has one grown daughter.
