Hyperhidrosis: I agree with checking for underlying causes for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). I often start patients on aluminum chloride solution at night to block the sweat ducts. If this does not work, Botox is very effective and sometimes covered by insurance.

Hyperpigmentation: There are many causes for dark spots on the skin - from fungal infections, benign or malignant growths or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. When there is any injury to the skin (acne, rash, trauma) some people heal with a dark spot remaing known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I would have to know more about these black marks to be able to help.
A 29-year-old member asked:

Psoriasis: Psoriasis often presents as pink, scaly patches of skin on the body, sometimes only on the knees and elbows. Unlike eczema, it tends not to be very itchy, mostly unsightly. There are many good treatments if this is psoriasis.
