I am a specialist in internal medicine, certified in endocrinology and diabetes. We deal with thyroid problems, insulin and non-insulin treated diabetes, adrenal and pituitary issues, and sex hormone abnormalities.
Our practice has always emphasized the latest advances, and we participate in research on many drugs before they even reach the market. We are very interested in new diabetes drugs and have been involved in the studies of most of the major agents which have come into use in the past decade. Some examples include Lantus insulin, pioglitazone, sitagliptin, linagliptin, and empagliflozin. We are also involved in the treatment of type 1 diabetes, and have been a part of the NIH study of Alefacept to attempt to reverse early onset insulin dependence. We also deal with the problems caused by diabetes, including diabetic neuropathy and kidney disease.
We have been a center for major studies of cholesterol lowering drugs and their effect on heart disease.
Our practice is located in Newport Beach near the Hoag Medical Center. You can access more information by looking up the Rose Salter Medical Research Foundation website which will tell you more about our activities.
Modern day medicine in the office has a host of activities. Often we don't speak to patients as much as we would like. The benefit of on line meetings is that talk is primary, and that is an advantage. Look forward to meeting you.
