Dr. Schochet is a fellowship trained colon and rectal surgeon, and double board certified in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery.
He graduated cum laude from Brandeis University and received his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine where he was awarded the Wilbur Wright Oncology Research Scholarship in 2002. Following that, he completed a general surgery residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA., receiving both the Stahler-Rex Award for Outstanding Research in Surgery and the Bosanac Research and Publication Award for original research in the fields of breast and rectal cancer. He completed a one year clinical fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida, and then joined Holy Cross Hospital’s Bienes Cancer Center in August 2009 where he has quickly became recognized for his work in colorectal and anal cancers.
Dr. Schochet has authored eleven peer-reviewed scientific article and delivered numerous posters and oral presentations to national organizations including the American College of Surgeons, The American College of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, The Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. His main interests include anal cancer, HIV related anorectal conditions, and minimally invasive approaches to colon and rectal cancer.
