Bio

Phillip D. Price, M.D. is a board certified surgeon with Mid Ohio Surgical Associates.He serves as medical director of cancer services for Mount Carmel Health West Hospital and as the American College of Surgeons Cancer Liason Physician for Mt Carmel Health System in Central Ohio. In 1995 He started the Bariatric Surgery Program at Mt Carmel which is now designated as a center of excellence. He has been a pioneer in the field of advanced laparoscopic surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from Capital University and his doctorate of medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Price completed his residency at Mount Carmel Health. Dr. Price has published numerous papers on bariatric procedures and laparoscopic procedures and is active in the medical community. He has received awards as an educator from several medical schools as well as the surgical residency where he is an instructor. Dr Price has been voted by his peers as the top physician in his field in central ohio on several occassions. Dr Price is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds memberships in the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract and many others. In his free time, Dr. Price is active in scouts and sports with his three busy sons.
