Meds/lifestyle: Gout is caused by excessive uric acid crystals in your body. This can be reduced by diet low in purine (please google this), weight loss and certain medications such as Colchicine (during flareups) and Allopurinol (to prevent flareups). You should have your uric acid level checked.

Rotator cuff: If you can't move the arm above the shoulder you probably have a rotator cuff syndrome and if you have numbness and tingling you have nerve compression- these two may or may not be related. You should see your pcp or orthopedics.

Check immunity: If you have recurrent bacterial infections ("boils") you should see an immunologist to test your immunity. Some medications for ms may lower your immunity making you susceptible to certain infections. Quantitative immunoglobin levels may need to be checked for recurrent bacterial infections.
