Four decades of experience practicing ophthalmology. Primary interest now is cataract surgery and medical management of glaucoma. I teach part time at the University of Louisville and Vanderbilt, and have been going on teaching missions to developing countries sponsored by Orbis International for the past twenty-four years. Orbis has a DC-10 which is the world's only flying eye hospital, and also sponsors teaching programs in hospitals around the world. I just returned from my fifth mission to the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology in Trujillo, Peru, where I taught a course in using phacoemulsification to do cataract surgery.
