Carb cravings: Escitalopram (Lexapro) increase available serotonin in the brain - this can cause an increase in both hunger and cravings for carbohydrates. In addition, antidepressant SSRI's like escitalopram can adversely influence lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, leading to weight gain. On the flip side, people who are anxiety and depression eaters may experience decrease appetite on meds, and lose weight.

B12/Gluten problem?: About 1/2 of the population has difficulty with b vitamin metabolism, and regular b vitamins may not help. Since genetic mthfr testing may be expensive, you can take phosphorylated b complex and see if that helps fatigue - can take 3-6 months. Another cause can be wheat gluten sensitivity - try going without wheat for a week ; see if that increases energy. Last, sleep apnea?

10 min Intervals: You can exercise effectively by doing 10-15 minute interval training on a stationary bike or elliptical. Set it on manual, do a normal pace for 2-3 minutes, then as fast as you can for 30 seconds, then repeat 2-3 more times. Guaranteed to break a sweat. As always, check with your physician to make sure this is a healthy option.
