Dr. Kozakowski served as Class President and President of the Ethics Club, tutored fellow medical students through the Student Success Network, and contributed to the university administration as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Committee. After graduating from Columbia with her Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Kristin Kozakowski commenced a yearlong general surgery internship at both Columbia University Medical Center and Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. In July 2004, Dr. Kozakowski began her residency in urology through the aforementioned institutions, after which she spent a year as Chief Resident in the J. Bentley Squier Urologic Clinic in New York. As the recipient of a clinical and research fellowship in pediatric urology, she completed her formal training at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children in June 2010. During her fellowship, she played a key role in several research projects that led to presentations at various professional conferences and publication in several peer-reviewed scholarly journals. At present, she lives in the greater Miami metropolitan area.
