Yes sometimes: While cataracts happen as a result of aging primarily it can result out of poorly controlled diabetes mellitus especially the kind called posterior subcapsular cataracts which tend to be seen more in younger and either diabetic patients or patients on steroids.

Thinning sclera: This can be genetic or develop as a result of eye conditions later in life. You may have a genetic problem that is also related to other connective tissue diseases like the bone, or rheumatologic disease like rhematoid arthritis or have developed this as a result of injury/infection. The sclera can appear blue when it gets thinner & needs to be evaluated by an eye md (ophthalmologist) asap.
A 25-year-old female asked:

PRK vs. LASIK: Several advantages to prk (flapless lasik) include less invasive procedure, no flap complications such has interface inflammation/haze (dlk) and potentially a stronger cornea left behind. Some also theorize a lower dry eye risk after sx. Disadvantages include low risk of haze, slower visual rehabilitation (2-4 weeks), more light sensitivity & discomfort after sx, & regression with hyperopic rx.
