Dr. Garramone completed his fellowship training in Plastic

Dr. Garramone is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Florida
where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology
Cell Science. He then attended medical school at Nova Southeastern
College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a teaching fellowship in
Human Gross Anatomy during his medical school training. After completing
medical school, Dr. Garramone completed his five-year General Surgery
Residency at Michigan State University Botsford General Hospital where
he served as Chief Resident of the Department of General Surgery, Chief
Resident of Medical Education, and as an Associate Clinical Professor of
the Department of General Surgery.
Dr. Garramone then completed a two-year Plastic Reconstructive
Surgery Fellowship at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine,
where he also served as Chief Resident of the Department of Plastic
Reconstructive Surgery and as an Associate Clinical Professor of
the Department of Plastic Reconstructive Surgery.
During his surgical training, Dr. Garramone performed thousands of
operations therefore gaining a wealth of surgical experience. With this
experience, Dr. Garramone understands which procedures are reliably
effective and safe, and which procedures are not effective or do not
reproduce the desired results. Therefore, Dr. Garramone can offer
extensive opinions on various procedures and give realistic answers and
expectations for his patients.
Dr. Garramone has also been directly involved in research to develop
new techniques in breast reconstructive surgery and in research for burn
reconstruction using tissue engineered skin.
Dr. Garramone has lectured nationally on topics of Plastic
Reconstructive Surgery and Reconstructive Burn Surgery. He has been
published in the acclaimed “Plastic Reconstructive Surgery ”
journal with innovative new techniques for nipple reconstruction. He is
also a recipient of the “<em>Robert C. Erwin Literary Award</em>” by the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, and the “<em>Alvin Yarrow’s Literary Award</em>”
by Michigan State University and Botsford General Hospital for
excellence in his writings in medical research. Dr. Garramone has been a
leading advocate in surgical education through training other
physicians, fellows, residents, and medical students. He has been
considered a great clinical teacher by many, and continues to lecture
nationally on several topics in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery and
continues to write articles on Plastic Reconstructive Surgery to
further other physicians and patients knowledge in this vast field.
Dr. Garramone’s practice exclusively serves the Transgender
Community, as he performs surgical procedures for Female to Male
Transgender patients exclusively. He performs between 300 to over 400
Sexual Reassignment surgeries per year, and is one of the most well
known Plastic Surgeons in the World who specifically performs FTM Top
Surgery ® and the ManSculpture ® Procedure.
Dr. Garramone performs all of his surgeries at Memorial Same Day
Surgery Center, and is actively on medical staff as a Plastic Surgeon
within the Memorial Hospital System.
