Hydrate the Skin: Another important treatment for eczema is proper skin hydration. Use a hypoallergenic moisturizer such as cetaphil, eucerin, lubriderm or just plain vaseline. Apply the moisturizer at least twice a day, especially to damp skin directly after bathing. Often, eczema is not responsive to moisturizers alone and a visit to the doctor may be necessary to discuss the need for topical steroids.

Tips to avoid ticks: -treat your pet with a monthly flea and tick prevention program so that ticks will not be interested in your pet -perform daily skin checks on your child checking in the hair, behind the ears, in the groin, in skin folds as well as the rest of the body. (easily done at bath time) -in infants over 6 months, use insect repellent with 30% deet or 5-10% picaridin only once a day before going outdoors.

On his or her back: The chances of dying from sids (crib death) are worse, if a baby sleeps on his tummy. Years ago in america, when babies slept on their tummies, about 3 babies out of every 1000 would die of sids. Nowadays, when babies sleep on their backs, about 1 to 1.5 babies per 1000 die of sids. Parents should talk with the doctor if a baby won't sleep on his or her back.
