Maybe: With a history of multiple back surgeries it is not unusual to have a probable recurrence of pain as the success rate diminishes with that type of history. The pain is most likely muscular with pressing on the area as this is a common presentation & the lumps you note may have been from prior surgeries or are "muscle knots" now present due to new back pain episode.
