Cont bleed after menopause for 2 mo going through super+ tampon in 2 hrs. When is bleeding an emergency? Diagnosis thick ut lining. Waiting ok 4 hyst

MD-evaluate discharge: You'll need 30 more yrs of HRT than average. This should be managed with care and great precision. I would recommend saliva testing and bioidentical hormones transdermally. The vaginal discharge and uterine lining should be evaluated by your GYN. ...Read more

Is there a test for perimenopause like there's a test for menopause?

Is there a test for perimenopause like there's a test for menopause?

Not Exactly: Perimenopause is a time where the hormonal profile may vary widely. I've seen people test like 20 year olds one month and the next month test menopausal. So if only one test is performed the information can be very faulty and conclusions can be wrong. We use symptoms combined with age and other clinical indicators to help us more than lab testing. Hormones are helpful in this time, . ...Read more

48yr old last period 3 months ago.Onset hot flashes. Hormone levels in"postmenopausal range"estrogen 11.8. These mean menopause is over by post?

Not necessarily: First, the definition of menopause is cessation of periods for one year straight without other causes. A single estrogen level doesn't mean anything. Especially in the last 5-7 years before menopause, your estrogen level will fluctuate from day to day and may be in the menopausal range one day and normal premenopausal the next. I don't waste the patients time doing levels. ...Read more
