Possibly: If the knee is stable and you can walk comfortably, no. If the knee is painful, swollen, unstable, etc. It could put a damper on an active trip. Surgery and rehab take a while too, so you will have to decide with your doctor on the planning of the trip and the approprate bracing or other measures to make you most functional.

It depends.: After an ACL injury, most people can get around pretty well after about a week. you may be on crutches for the first few days after your injury, but once you're able to get around, there's no reason that you couldn't travel abroad.Check with your MD, to see if he/she wants you on any medication during your trip.
