No injury: It is never a good idea to do things to yourself which causes pain but if you pressed on your eyes through your closed eyelids and your vision is fine afterwards and you have no pain afterwards then you need not worry that damage has been done. It depends.: Hernias in infants are not uncommon, and often close on their own. Your pediatrician should evaluate it as the baby grows to see if it is still present. If it persists, the hernia will need to be repaired eventually. Osteoarthritis: More than likely, the cause is osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease. It is not impossible that you may have rheumatoid arthritis but tests performed by your family dr. Usually nothing: Most light sources (except the sun and lasers) are not sufficiently intense to do any damage. You of course will find staring at bright light to be uncomfortable, but your pupils will get automatically smaller and the retina involuntarily moves in little rapid motions which minimize the intensity for any one point. ...Read more
