What type of injury: Did you twist your ankle or where you in fall or accident? Need more information to help you out. But 7 days for any injury to the ankle is too soon to worry about it not healing. As far as the difference in opinion from the doctors, have the doctor who told you there is a fracture to go over the x-rays with you and show you exactly where the bone is broken. Avulsion fracture: Of what? 5th met base? Any bone where a soft tissue structure attaches to it can have an avulsion fracture. Bone should heal in 6-8 weeks, if not you have to reconsider your treatment plan. Consider bone stinulator...Consider checking your vitamin d levels....X-rays need to be examined.
