What are the causes of slight radiating leg pain? I had no previous injury.

What are the causes of slight radiating leg pain? I had no previous injury.

Depends: If the pain goes down the back side of the leg below the knee (to leg or foot), or the front part of the thigh, you may have irritation of one of the nerves in your back that give feeling to the leg. If it goes only to the buttock or back side of the thigh, it could be nerve or it could be referred pain (not from direct irritation of a spinal nerve). ...Read more

I have sudden onset low back pain with radiation of pain down the leg, no injury. What's causing this?

I have sudden onset low back pain with radiation of pain down the leg, no injury. What's causing this?

Disk perhaps: A common cause would be a disk herniation (rupture, slip) in the low back. It can also be caused by nerve irritation by bone spurs in the low back. Less commonly, disk injury without herniation can also cause this type of symptoms. Often such problems will improve with time. Seek help if you have problems emptying your bladder or you have weakness in the leg muscles. ...Read more

Intense pain in the upper part of my patella when i bend my knee what are some possible causes? No specific instant of pain

A couple of things: Pain at the top of patella can result from a few things. First, the cartilage of the knee cap might be inflamed (chondromalacia). Second, you might have injured your quadriceps tendon or have tendonitis. Finally, bursitis can occur surrounding the knee cap, but it is less likely without trauma. ...Read more

Could scoliosis cause back, hip, and groin pain all of a sudden after years of having no problems?

Could scoliosis cause back, hip, and groin pain all of a sudden after years of having no problems?

Maybe, maybe not: Just because you have scoliosis does not mean you cannot develop other conditions. People with and without scoliosis can get degeneration in their backs and have back and buttock pain. Groin pain is more commonly due to hip joint problems rather than spine problems. Consider seeing your primary provider or a hip specialist about that. ...Read more

Unsure: As long as your quadreaceps is intact you can probably wait a couple weeks before seeing an ortopedist, but if you have any difficulty straightening your knee against gravity, you need to be seen right away.I presume you can walk on it also, if not get seen quickly, it may be a bruise but hard to say without an apointment. ...Read more

Quad weakness: The most common source of pain and "instability" after acl reconstruction is from weakness in the quad muscles (acl failure is possible but actually less common). If the muscles have not returned to normal function, you will continue to limp and walk with a straight knee (quad avoidance). This further weakens the quad and harms the hamstrings and calf, causing pain, burning, and giving way. ...Read more

Ankle Ligament tear: Sorry to hear about that. The anterior talo-fibular ligament runs from the outside to the front of the ankle. Although it's only one ligament, the swelling from the joint capsule can be enough to cause a lot of pain on both sides. Hope that answers your question. ...Read more
