How can I heal a tibia injury (hairline fracture)?

How can I heal a tibia injury (hairline fracture)?

U can't make it heal: the body is programed 2 due this all by itself. If healthy, proper diet NO SMOKING! !! & adequate calcium intake U will heal. Fractures of the junction of the middle & distal tibia have lower blood supply, so follow the advice of Ur ortho 2 a T. Don't push it. Fractures with a larger surface area involved heal better than a hairline Fx, ,which has a very small surface area & heal slowly. ...Read more

Noticed slight bony bump on left tibia(no injury). Can't be seen(small), only felt. Does not cause any problems, and bone never fractured. Is this bad?

Probably nothing: the tibia (and bones in general) aren't perfectly smooth and can have some irregularities. Often times bones can get "bumps" on the from an inflammation of the periosteum or the thin layer of "bone skin" that covers each bone. It is likely that the bump on your tibia was from a minor trauma and the skin elevated off the bone collecting blood which in turn transforms into bone tissue. ...Read more

Intermittent "bone pain" feeling in tibia for 3 days (at rest), unrelated to activity/injury. Could bone cyst explain it? Or prior prednisone use?

Intermittent "bone pain" feeling in tibia for 3 days (at rest), unrelated to activity/injury. Could bone cyst explain it? Or prior prednisone use?

Sometimes: Prednisone can cause both bone and joint problems. If you have had long treatment courses of prednisone, it could weaken the bone and make you more susceptible to stress fractures though I would expect some pain with weight bearing. Bone cysts unlikely in your age group. As always , if pain persists, see your doctor. ...Read more

Knee injury. MRI report "PCL Avulsion fracture of tibia (6-7mm displacement) with adjacent tibial bone edema. fibers are intact." is surgery needed?

Yes, it should if-: -U expect 2 have a functioning knee 4 the rest of Ur life. It can only separate more, & a simple reduction & fixation will do what U want it 2 do, reunite the fragment 2 the tibia. The image is a tear & requires a major reconstruction if not fixed.
