Site of last month's broken toe has no feeling on the skin?

No feeling: You may have permanently damaged the nerve so it will not return but it is way too early to determine that. You are going to have to give it at least 2 to 3 months to find out if the nerve has been permanently damaged. In the meantime use warm compresses on the area. These will help the nerve. Remember warm not hot as hot will cause more damage. ...Read more

While : While most infections have a so-called "portal of entry, " not all of them do. We don't always understand what causes infections in some people. Pain, redness, and swelling that are progressive should be evaluated immediately, as some infections can cause serious tissue damage or life-threatening illness if not treated promptly. Other causes of pain, throbbing, and warmth at a fingertip include gout, pseudogout, vascular problems, certain benign growths, and trauma. A hand surgeon can help determine the cause and treatment. ...Read more

Not debatable...: Whether or not you presently have these symptoms are had them in the past, an obvious concern is a possible blood clot. This dangerous condition can happen without a clear history of trauma, prolonged inactivity or for that matter, without any apparent reason at all. Regardless of the actual cause, the goal now is to have it evaluated immediately. Untreated, a DVT can have catastrophic effects. ...Read more

Damage control.: Don't kid yourself, almost everything you do causes some sort of trauma to your body. Thankfully the vast majority of the trauma is microscopic in size. Your body is able to deal with the damage without incidence and in all likely-hood you would not even notice the reparative processes taking place. Your bruise is an indication that the trauma was there but not severe enough to notice. ...Read more

Had side of toenail cut out Monday, still bleeding seeping and bottom of toe real itchy. Is that ok?

Contact your podiatr: Normally, if your nail was cut out by a podiatrist, the bleeding and discharge decreases a little bit every day. It gradually should completely stop, generally within 3-7 days, unless what you had done was a permanent procedure. That could take a few extra days to heal. The itching may be a result of a reaction to the local anesthetic, or possibly the result of a healing infection. ...Read more

Needs X Ray: This is most likely a soft tissue injury however you need to see a doctor if the swelling, bruising and pain are worsening. You could have sustained a small fracture in one of the bones/joints of the hand therefore you need an X ray to rule it out. In the meantime I would recommend taking some anti inflammatories and using an arm sling to elevate your hand to reduce the pain and swelling. ...Read more
