If it is towards the bk, it sounds like u cd have strained the Flexor Digitorum Longus (FDL) tendon which runs from behind the knee to the medial (inner) part of the mid foot. If the pain is in the front, u cd have strained the tibialis anterior (TA) tendon instead, also known as "runner's knee" or "shin splints". Ice the area & rest; if not better in 2 wks, TTYD. Pain @ 11d is common: When fluid and swelling are present in the knee, you will usually see it on outer part of thigh. If a tourniquet was used it can also cause residual but temporary pain in thigh. If the surgeon did a lateral release that also causes pain on outer thigh. If pain is severe you should have your doctor examine to make sure there is not an infection or determine if fluid needs to be removed from knee. ...Read more

Might need to see Dr: There are many causes of knee pain. Tendinitis generally doesnt respond to medications. A physiotherapist might be helpful re your bracing. Suggest get it checked if worsening.
