Can a rib injury cause pericarditis? I accidently cracked my ribs from falling at work, i was diagnoised with pericarditis. I heard that the cuase of pericarditis is hard to determine, but are these two incidents correlated?

Rheumatologic : Depending on how much work up they did and then called it idiopathic pericarditis( which is by definition a diagnosis of exclusion) . Yes it is a possible: That there could be referred pain or that you may have some muscular pain or myalgias from your infection in that region. It could also be just muscular pain from being inactive while you were sick.
