Impact Injury To Top Of Foot
Anterior Tibialis: Tendonitis could be a direct result of an injury to the top of the foot. The tib ant as it is often called starts out on the lateral leg or shin and courses down your leg and spreads out on the top of your foot. It is the main muscle/tendon involved in raising (dorsiflexing) your foot. If you injure the top of your foot you cna injure that tendon as well and it will not function well and hurt. ...Read more

Need an Xray: A direct impact to an ankle can result in a fracture and the only way to truly evaluate for a fractured ankle is an x-ray. Get examined by md: Sesamoid injuries to the big toe are relatively uncommon. Fractures to the sesamoid bones are most commonly seen in ( American) football. I have an avulsion/chip fracture involving the anterior lateral aspect of the calcaneus.how can I lessen the pain in my ankle an knee An heel of foot?
Have torn ligaments in knee. Can femur actually slip off the top of the tibia? Could something fracture? Using exercise bike & walking for strength.
Torn ligaments: It would be unusual for your femur to slide off your tibia unless you tore all the ligaments around your knee like in a knee dislocation. If you just tore your acl then your knee can be unstable with subluxation of the bones. Sometimes the acl can avulse from the tibia with bone. Exercise and knee strengthening is good for a acl tear and consideration of surgery can be discussed with your doctor. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Yikes.: It seems odd that this type of pain and restricted motion exists without some degree of swelling and/ or inflammation. At least it was not noted in your description. Clearly, something is going on. Either physical(trauma) of chemical(gout). Regardless, your condition is best treated by a direct examination that would include x-ray and possibly some blood work. ...Read more

Tripped, fell, top of foot swollen for 5 days. Painful, switches between mild and severe. What do I do? No other part of foot swollen.
Get checked: You could have a fracture and there is no way to be sure without an x-ray. Don't walk on it, if it hurts. If we could tell whether or not you had a fracture by reading your description or just by looking at the outside of your foot, then x-rays would not have been invented! Get checked so you know how badly you are injured and how long it will take to heal, too! Hope it's nothing major! ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
