21 weeks pregnant. Pain in temple when bending down or coughing. No head injury. Possible causes?

Sinus congestion: When discomfort in the head or temple area as you describe occurs upon postural changes then, the most likely explanation is that of increased pressure in the head causing expansion of fluid which may be in your sinuses. You didn't mention headaches or visual issues so i don't think it's anything more serious. Be on the watch for other symptoms to report though to your doctor. All the best. ...Read more

Headache in a few isolated spots. Mild nausea. Weakness. Recent head injury (3 weeks ago). CTscan 2 hrs after hit was clear. Worried about a stroke?

See a neurologist: Some people may have a post-concussive/traumatic headache. If the headache is accompanied by other symptoms (tinnitus, difficulty concentrating, irritability) then you might have post-concussion syndrome. Complications (seizure, coma) can prolong hospitalization. See a neurologist for evaluation. http://www.webmd.com/brain/post-concussion-syndrome ...Read more

After a head to head hit in a recent football game, I got a slight stiffness/crick in my neck that soon went away. No other symptoms. Head concussion?

YouGotACrickcussion: If you have no symptoms now you're sitting pretty! And just a little neck stiffness does not qualify as a true concussion. More like a neck strain. With a concussion, the brain gets a good bounce inside the skull & you'd be left with a headache & other symptoms. You may or may not have blacked out,but the symptoms last a while, sometimes a long while. The spinal cord can experience something similar. ...Read more

Is subdural hematoma possible after a head injury one year later?

Unlikely in young: In a young person, it is unlikely. In an older person (>80 years), the patient may have a chronic subdural hematoma. As we get older, the brain "shrinks". There is more potential space between the brain and the dura. Thus, small, often times unnoticed bumps on the head can tear the bridging vessels, thus leading to the sdh. ...Read more

Head injury- 2 days later. Sharp pain in back of head when bending over and it goes away after standing up. Neuro exam normal.

Need more info: if you hit the back of your head this could be occipital neuralgia, another possibility is a pinched cervical nerve which can get more compressed with certain neck positioning (MRI C-spine would show it); if sharp pain is primarily below the hairline, this could also be a muscle strain at the back of the neck (worsening with neck flexion), need more information to help you figure this ...Read more
