I used meth and smoked for 20 years. I'm wondering if my lungs will heal from that and how much damage i actually did?

I used meth and smoked for 20 years. I'm wondering if my lungs will heal from that and how much damage i actually did?

No crystal ball...: Using crystal meth probably causes more damage to the brain than lungs and some studies suggest significant psychological/mental or cognitive impairment and higher risk for dementia. Smoking cigarettes is the #1 cause of lung cancer, but COPD (chronic obstructive lung disease) causes much more disability/lower quality of life. Quantity and duration of use influence risk. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more

No, no and no: No, you cannot taper off quickly as there may be unwelcomed "side effects" Some anti depressants can be used in pregnancy safely. Check with your OB MD and the MD giving the Lexapro.. How long does it take to reverse the neuroadaptation after 8 years of ssri use ? 2 months off and having a lot of symptoms that i never had before ssri

Taper: You may want to resume your ssri under a doctor's supervision and have them make up a schedule for withdrawal. Ssri's must be slowly tapered off. The longer you've been on them the longer it should take to taper them off. Otherwise, it is quite common to have bizarre and unpleasant side effects. ...Read more

I have massive headache for 10 days from water intoxication . Can i make MRI now and how long time to detect a cerebral edema or other
harms in MRI ?

?reason for MRI?: Were you already diagnosed as having water intoxication? Do you have abnormalities of electrolyte, such as sodium, dysfnctn, or kidney changes? Is this the first time you have had a headache? Has a doctor discussed possibility of migraine? Not clear to me that an MRI is either indicated or would be of value. Suggest you see a neurologist, as you might need lumbar puncture. ...Read more

Cocaine: Cocaine produces peak blood levels within 15 minutes, and can be detected in blood for about 12 hours after use. Urine tests for byproducts of cocaine, which may remain positive for 2-3 days in people who use infrequently. In frequent users, urine stays positive for 2 weeks after last use; hair can remain positive for several months. Please tell your doctors so they can better help you & baby. ...Read more

Hey i have been over masterbating for 8 months,i was wondering how long will it take my body to heal from the side effects if i quit?such asMemoryLOSS

Masturbation: is a harmless activity that causes no such side effects. As long as you are practicing this activity in private there is no harm done. There are no "side effects" from which to recover. If you really are suffering from memory loss, you need to look to other causes. In your age group, that is often things like poor sleep, poor nutrition, alcohol and drug use. ...Read more

Can a one week use of meth cause long term heart damage? I went to the hospital w/ accelerated heart rate. Haven't used in 2 months still feel sick.

Actually it can: We pathologists are familiar with a curious lesion with fibrous tissue around individual heart cells that seems to run with curious rhythm problems. If you value your life, don't ever do "meth" again -- or if you don't value your life, think of the people who love you and who'd be sad if you were to see you die suddenly from it. It happens every day. Be smart. Best wishes. ...Read more
