Hit in the back of the head with a foam dodgeball 12 hours ago. No loss of consciousness. No severe headache. Brain damage likely?

Not likely: Healthy 22 yr usually has a pretty hard-head. It has been 12 hours and you don't really have any concerning symptoms and so significant brain injury is highly highly unlikely. If u were 72 it would be a different story because of a possibility of a very slow bleed. So, just be careful playing sports/protect your head, otherwise you are lucky this episode. I'm having nose bleed after head injury but not hit in nose, normal?

I'm having nose bleed after head injury but not hit in nose, normal?

The blood may be coming from behind your nose. And even if it's coming FROM your nose, the nasal septum is supplied by 3 arteries, so whatever the cause, you can lose a lot of blood if it's not controlled. ...Read more

Even : Even if you are a physician, and it doesn't sound as if you are, you can't be your own physician. You need to see a doctor, one who will thoroughly evalute you for acute brain injuries and perhaps order ct or MRI scans to see what injury may be present to the skull or the brain. Whether your injuries are from sports (boxing, other types of combat sports) or an assault you need to be properly assessed. Don't delay. ...Read more
